SERIAL LCD

Postby victorf57 » Tue Jun 25, 2013 9:19 am

Hi Can we get a serial LCD to simulate.
Something like the Scott Edwards, or the Sparkfun. where we can choose
true or inverted data
Thanks

Hi Vic, I have had a quick look at the Sparkfun datasheet here

It looks like there are quite a few differences are the backlight command 0x7c then 128-157, the setup command
0x7c, then 3,4,5, or 6 and the extended LCD commands.

I guess one way to do it could be to build it into a sketch or library by adding a serial to lcd converter routine. if a normal character, transfer to the LCD or else if 0x7c, do the appropriate action or if below 0x20, test for an extended command.

Note that a Simulated LCD can be added using:
// SimulateLCD(39,50,480,163,3,4,8388608,16777215,16711680)
// arguments are x,y,width,height,pixel width,pixel-pixel distance, colour1 colour 2
The colours are the 32bit foreground and background colours in RGB format.

We could add it to the Simulator but that would probably involve a lot of work (and the accompanying bugs). Let us know if you get this to work. Thanks for the interest.
